Giveaway of CHASING POWER

My new YA novel CHASING POWER comes out from Bloomsbury in exactly one week!!!!!!!!!!

In honor of this, I'm doing a giveaway of a signed copy of CHASING POWER:

a Rafflecopter giveaway
CHASING POWER is the story of Kayla, a sixteen-year-old girl who can move things with her mind, and Daniel, a boy who can teleport across continents and who lies as easily as he travels. Together, they embark on an Indiana-Jones-style adventure to find and steal an ancient incantation, written on three indestructible stones and hidden millennia ago, all to rescue Daniel's kidnapped mother. But Kayla has no idea that this rescue mission will lead back to her own family, and to betrayals that she may not be able to forgive... or survive.  Click here to read the first two chapters.

One week until pub day!!!  *runs in circles, flails arms like Muppet*

Honestly, I really just wish I could fly!
Thanks for doing the giveaway, I'm super excited to read Chasing Power. :)

Talysa: Thanks so much! I'd love to fly. Probably best that I don't, though. Given how klutzy I am, I'd end up tangled in tree tops on a regular basis.

Hi Sarah, congrats on the new book! Can't wait to read it (also gonna ask for books by you for Christmas this year).
Anyway, I'd love to be able to stop time. Just for an extra five minutes here and there. I'd get so much sleep!
I also think knowing every language that ever was, is and ever would be, as well as all the fictional ones would be amazing.

Ashlee: Thanks so much! And I thoroughly approve of your Christmas list. :)

Stopping time for sleep would be the ultimate snooze button. And it would be great to know all languages. And be able to read them. How cool would it be to walk into a museum and read all the stories carved into ancient stones...

Hmm I think I would like the ability to tell when people are lying. I know it would suck for a lot of different reasons but I think it would be worth it.

Melissa: Ooh, never thought of that power. Very useful, especially in certain jobs. (I'd just have to remember never to ask anyone how my hair looks on a humid day...)

I would love to be able to turn into a llama. Have a bunch of homework that I don't want to do? Turn into a llama! No one can expect a llama to do homework. :D

Erin: If I were sure I wouldn't be eaten or otherwise die, I'd love to see a dinosaur...

Sabina: Brilliant. It's the perfect excuse for everything.

I would looooove to be able to fly.

The ability to accurately reproduce what I envision. It's so frustrating to have something in your mind but not be able to get it out on paper or other form to your satisfaction!

The superpower I love reading about is shapeshiting. It can encompass many different types, from people to animals, and each author can set different limitations or drawbacks to using this power. It's such a fluid idea that I could never get tired of it.

I'd love to be able to turn invisible or have the power to speak and understand any language...super hearing would be nice too... :)
Excited to read this!

Can't wait to add your newest book to my classroom library. You are a rock star to my students!

Stephanie: Ditto that hurray! Still have no idea how it got to be October already, though...

Diana: I know that feeling. It's all so perfect until you write the first word. (But then it does get better!)

Megan: You're right --tons of possibilities.

Anonymous: Super hearing could be really useful, especially if it's adjustable.

Cherylann: *blush* Thanks so much!

Probably something a little darker like extending my lifespan by feeding off other people's life energy.

Christina: Ooh, it would make an interesting story if you couldn't choose who to feed off of...

Laura: Thanks!! *tosses more candy*

Nicole: I've always thought that every book could be improved by the addition of a talking cat.

Rylie: I can say "turtle" and "squid" in sign language...

Jpetroroy: Definitely would be useful. How did it get to be October?!?

KiKiD: That could be fun.

I've always wanted to have telekinesis.
When reading though I like it when people come up with really unusual powers and getting to see what their characters find to do with their powers, like hemokinesis or prehensile control of one's own hair.
