Today is the book birthday for my new book for kids, EVEN AND ODD! It's a fantasy adventure from Clarion Books / HarperCollins about two sisters who share magic on alternating days. On even days, Even has magic. On odd days, her sister Odd does. When the border between the mundane world they live in and the magical land they were born in shuts abruptly, they must find a way to reunite their worlds -- with the help of a unicorn named Jeremy!

It's about learning to be a hero and that you don't have to wait until you're grown up to make a difference in the world. And it's dedicated to all the healthcare heroes and everyone who stepped up when we needed them over the past fifteen months.

5 Weeks Until EVEN AND ODD!

 Five weeks until my next book for kids, EVEN AND ODD, comes out!!! This book is chock-full of magic. While I was writing it, I deliberately asked myself on every single page, "Can I add more magic?" Actually devoted an entire draft to that.

Guess I've always secretly felt that when the White Queen said to Alice, "Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast," she was throwing down the gauntlet. EVEN AND ODD has many, many impossible things before, during, and after breakfast.
